Product Catalogue and Online Store

Online Store is a coherent commerce capability — catalogue, cart, checkout, orders, inventory and fulfilment — for product retailers and hybrid service businesses.

The business problem

Product retailers and hybrid service businesses need a coherent online store without enabling field-service Jobs by accident.

How KookaCRM solves it

Online Store activates as one capability bundle (catalogue, storefronts, cart, checkout, orders). A customer purchase creates a commerce order. Jobs appear only when the Jobs module is separately entitled (service delivery). A product flag for installation does not turn on Jobs for the whole tenant.

When to use this

  • You sell physical products online (pure retail or hybrid)
  • You want checkout without a separate ecommerce platform
  • You need Orders as the primary transaction workspace

Suitable business types

  • Pure online retailers (e.g. lighting suppliers)
  • Retail and hybrid service businesses selling products alongside services

How it works

  1. Operator activates Online Store once — required entitlements reconcile automatically, then

  2. Staff add products, images, variants and categories, then

  3. Configure storefront, shipping zones/flat rates, tax and Stripe Connect, then

  4. Customer browses via Storefront API or hosted storefront, checks out and pays, then

  5. Exactly one paid order is confirmed via Stripe webhook; inventory commits, then

  6. Staff fulfil and track the order; refunds restore inventory when configured

What KookaCRM creates

  • Commerce order
  • Job (only when Jobs is entitled and service fulfilment is required)

How it connects with other features

  • Checkout payments rely on Stripe Connect
  • Service fulfilment can link an order to a Job only when Jobs is separately enabled

Example use cases

  • A pure retailer (Pallas Lighting) runs Online Store with Orders primary and Jobs hidden
  • A hybrid business sells products online and separately enables Jobs for installation work

Setup requirements

  • Operator activates the Online Store capability for the tenant
  • Build the product catalogue with images/variants before publishing
  • Connect Stripe Connect and configure shipping + tax
